Religious Education
Aims and Objectives
  • To lead students to live a life of love, truth and justice, following in the footsteps of Jesus
  • To strengthen the religious atmosphere at school and nurture the positive Catholic values and virtues of students
  • Features
Religious Education is a rich tapestry, an active interweaving between life and faith. Our students are taught to be aware of the presence of Jesus who, today as always, is with them in their journey. The fullness of the vision for Religious Education is realised through classroom learning and teaching, and participation in religious events.
The holy life of Jesus including his miracles and parables are introduced in lessons. A School Opening Prayer Assembly for all students is conducted in September every year. Morning and School Dismissal Prayer are led by students respectively every day. A Graduation Thanksgiving Mass is arranged for Primary Six graduates in July every year. Furthermore, various religious activities such as Christmas Celebration, Lent Project, Celebration Masses of St. Joseph and St. John Baptist de La Salle, our School Patrons, are organised according to the liturgical calendar every year. Through the aforesaid, our students are guided to practise a spiritual life.
After six years in SJPS, it is believed that students are able to absorb a wide and varied Catholic knowledge so that they could distinguish the true and good from their opposites and face the challenges and temptations they meet in the future.
