Dear Brothers,

Really very sorry and please send somebody to kill me first for my laziness......just like a flat balloon that cannot pick up my strength to be slightly efficient again (though always not to be) after finishing this task, and anyway, sorry la......

Firstly, as you may remember, the Team 90 got this year's Champion and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them here again on behalf of all of us...... but would Thomas of Team 90 please bear in mind to bring back the trophy next year (in good shape wor because it's quite expensive ga) and to contact me some time before next year's tournament date so as to tell you where to get your team's name plate on the trophy just like last year.......and also......... we and other teams will strive our best to get it back next year..... as I don't need to sit on the bench anymore just watching like this year ga la....... so be careful...haha!!

Secondly, I also need to apologize for the food arranged on that day which even in my own opinion, they can be surely of better quality and arrangement....... and it's not cheap ma, I understand, and so I thank all of you for your generosity and tolerance towards this, sorry again!!

Furthermore, one of the most important issue is to share the precious and brilliant photos taken on that day by 3 of the photographers (as I know there's lot more than 3) respectively, i.e. Mr. Alan AU Ka-keung (Year 87), Mr. Gabriel YAM's (Year 84/85) wife--Ms Vanora YAM, and also by another alumni Mr. Benny FUNG. Here they are:

(As a computer idiot, I had tried to get the links to become directly linked upon clicking but in vain. So, I've tried to cut and paste on the IE and got it done, hope u guys don't mind and please check it out)

Of course, we have to take this opportunity to say a million of thanks to all of them mentioned above who volunteered to take such excellent pictures for the event, though Vanora took too many pictures at Gabriel...... hehe, just joking......

Also, I need to report the financial balance regarding this event and here they are:

$2,826

Just for your information, the balance remaining may be left to next year's organizer (should be year 1988) to lower the expenditure level and money collected from each team or to sponsor this year's SJPS soccer team's jersey. Will be determined subject to views collected from Mr. YUEN and other advisors upon negotiation to be held later. The money is in my hand and hope u guys don't mind of earning some interests for me, probably will be $0.000023 per annum....... and I'll hand it out to next year's organizer or to purchase the jersey for SJPS when decision has made. Will again let u guys know when it's done because all of you had contributed ga ma......

So I better stop here again as not to bore you by such a long e-mail. Last but not least, I would like to say a million of thanks on behalf of my year 87 to the tolerance and support from all of you for forgiving our handful mistakes having made and enthusiasm shown towards our reunion event. Above all, surely not to miss the support and guidance given by our honourable School's Leaders, Rev. Bro. Alphonsus and Rev. Bro. Thomas, Mr. YUNG & Mrs. YUNG, Ms LEUNG and Ms TAM, Mr. YUEN, Mr. TAM, Mr. KO, Mr. LUN, Mr. YIM, Mr. CHOW, Miss HO and some other left and retired teachers (sorry I forgot some of their names) and also all other school staff etc.. Without your support and guidance given, this event is surely impossible for us to reach its fruitful goal. Surely not to forget the comments, guidance and help given and rendered by Benny CHOY and Felix FU (86's) and Calvin CHAN (87's). Without you guys' help and sharing, I would just like a mad man not knowing how to start things up........ and of course, thanks for the voice of Mr. CHAN and Mr. LAU for leading us to sing the school anthem.... (though some of us really seemed to have forgotten wor..)

Haha, similar to last year's arrangement, next year's event "should" be taken up by brothers of year 88 ga la....... if there is no objection.... so let's contact later (probably around by May 2008 or so la...) for transferring data and hope this event will go on and go forever la.... and also, I should have included all e-mail addresses that the Team Captains gave me when submitting your team list but of course it didn't cover every brother who came back that day, so pls kindly help me to disseminate to those whose e-mail addresses are not included so that they can also share la...... thanks la!!

So see u guys next year (or some time later hopefully) ga la.... and thanks again, hope u guys enjoyed this year's event and things will get better in next year's event ga la...

Bun-- for 87er's

Green & White Junior Cup 2006 Report
The morning of September 2, 2006 kicked off with a serene sky, the perfect backdrop to open the curtains of the inaugural Green & White Junior Cup. At 8.30am, 48 Wood Road's outdoor playground was full of St Joseph's Primary School old boys dressing up in colourful jerseys. The event started with the old boys waiting and queuing up just like the scene in the old days at the assembly. It was an honour to have Ms. J. Leung and Ms. M. Tam conducted the opening ceremony of the tournament and the draw.

The resounding of the school rally upsurge the spirits and atmosphere with 8 valiant teams evenly divided into Group Green and Group White. There were in total 7 old boys teams from classes of 1984 to 1989, together with the seeded SJPS team which consisted of current SJPS teachers & the renowned SJPS football team. The opening match was SJPS team playing against the Class of 1989 team, the youngest old boys team in this tournament. En route from the opening game to the championship game, there were in total 19 matches scheduled within 4 hours. All matches in this 5-a-side tournament had been played in an attritional and fast paced way with the 10 minutes running time per game format further enhancing the excitement and both the players and spectators find the tournament very entertaining. We were grateful to have Mr. K K Yuen and one of our old boys from Class of 1990 refereeing the games and all the players were extremely disciplined throughout the tournament with no culpable bookings recorded. From the smile and look of their faces, the old boys were enjoying every moment and were thrilled to leave some footprints and sweat again on this playground, a place where they grew up with happy memories decades ago. They were also not shy to show off their entrenched Josephians' football skills with goals coming from all angles - legitimate only when last touched in own team's front half.

The championship game started at 12.45pm without procrastination with two teams remaining. The teachers and school supervisors had been invited to witness this extraordinary game and both teams had their respective fans cheering for them. Both finalists were holding their own and after regulation the score remained stalemate at 0-0 due to their insurmountable sublime defensive effort. Like the World Cup Final earlier in July, this tournament was set to have a flair for the dramatic as the rules required a penalty shoot-out to decide the winner. Finally, it was Class of 1987 claiming victory and they received this prestigious Cup from the hands of Brother Alphonsus Breen. Class of 87 would safe keep the trophy temporarily until the next tournament, which would be expected to be held every year subject to the support from various parties in similar fashion.

Lunch was closely followed at the 2/F Hall where we had in total over 150 participants, including teachers, old boys and their families. There were indeed a few who dashed out of their tables starving for catered food and drinks trying to make themselves rejuvenated after a full morning of workout. This luncheon gathering provided an excellent opportunity for the old boys and teachers to renew their acquaintances and establish new ones. It was nice to see some teachers volunteered to provide a guided tour of the school (in particular the New Wing) and the old boys and their families appreciated such close rapport from the staff members.

The Organization Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank all teachers, old boys and their families, volunteers and helpers who have participated in and contributed to in this event, make it a smashing success.
